Night time fun.........

I like when I can sit outside on a warm spring night and photograph in the darkness. But, you have to fool your camera into thinking it is not dark. Either set the shutter open or at least on a time delay, you are going to need a few seconds of time to capture a scene. It all depends on what you want to capture, and how much detail you want to capture. With time you will get used to your camera and what will be produced with certain settings.
